What Bass Is This?

I've got one, my official 2nd bass. Great little practice bass at home. Cool tone variety with the toggle ranging from a sorta fender ish open sound, to a gibson sidewinder, mid position is kinda scooped, it's due to the resistor & capacitor wired to the switch itself.

I like it, got it cause i was still a huge KISS fan & this reminded me of Gene's Lobue bass.

Those are neat basses. I just modified one to suit my taste. $75 is a great deal on these as long as there is nothing structurally wrong with it and especially if it includes a nice gig bag. Here's mine:

And if you don't end up liking it, I'll buy it off of you. Send me a PM if that scenario arises.

My first Ibanez was a second. The dealer went to great lengths to explain that to and show where the flaw was. It is a pretty simple machine and as long as the neck is good enough $70 probably isn't so bad. Please note that their have been times in my life where $70 was very precious indeed, and others when my bar tab was more than that.

It's a GAX, model number GAXB150BK. The serial number indicates it was made by Yeou Chern Enterprises Instrument Co. Ltd. in Guangdong, China, in September 2003. The earliest catalogues that show this exact model are from 2004:

The last US catalogue where they are shown is from 2008:

It has a B10 bridge and three-position "tone character" switch, so is covered [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].

I am of the opinion that any bass that is playable, adjustable and can produce sound electrically would be worth $75 no matter what the make or model. Some that are not playable may still be worth $75 as wall art.

Good morning, everyone.

About to buy this Ibanez 4-string bass off Craig's List, but I cannot find any information about it.

He's asking $75.00.

Deal or no deal?

Thanks,

Pierre
Maybe look at it this way.
If it turns out to be a total useless pos and you're out $75, how bad would it make you feel having taken the gamble?
If you can't afford it, or it would really grind your gears, then walk away.

I'm sorry @Pierre008 .....That was unkind of me....I didn't notice that it was your first day on TB....

Welcome and I promise that I'll leave it at least a week before I have a gentle joke at your expense again...:D:thumbsup:
I ain't just swinging a bass at FF's head for no good reason.

He's OK, just takes some gettin' used too.
But that's gonna be about 90% of the people you run into here.

Talk Bass. Come for the info, stay for the fun.

And welcome aboard.
