What bass is this?

This is an old band photo of Hellhammer. I thought up until now he was holding a Gibson Explorer bass but I don't see Gibson on the headstock. What do you think that is? Time frame of picture is 82 - 84.

ummmmmmmm.... well... um. i uh... um. i'm just going to go into hiding and stare creepily at your lightsab... i mean destroyer.

:hiding:

I'm sorry that I questioned your authority, jedi master james.

:) keep watching eBay... it took a year to find this one. I got it for about $325 shipped. My first real bass was a single split P version in red.

What kind of finish does that Destroyer have?

Was aluminum tape / sheeting edged in black model paint. Now it's still waiting for time to finish. I had a lot of ideas and a couple refinish options fall through. I do intend to have it back in rotation real soon. It is in the process of become chrome painted with black binding. It already has Delano pickups and a Bee Pre wired up... I'm still thinking I might put a tremolo on it before it's done.

Those pictures really did it justice... it was hideous in person!

Very interesting. I bet the chrome tape was a bit ghastly up close, but in the pics, and probably from a distance it looks interesting. NOT the same old ,same old for sure.We expect some pics. of the refin. job of course.
