What bass is this?

Saw it used tonight during the Arcade Fire show.

Yep --Mosrite. A Joe Maphis, I believe. 30" Scale. Mosrite was made popular by The Ventures.

This keeps coming up. 85-90% of the songs performed live by the Arcade Fire use the Mosrite, on the last tour, I saw Win using a Rickenbacker 4001 (or could have been a 4003) for "Antichrist Television Blues". And just the other night, Will pulled out a Guild B-301 for "Modern Man" and a couple other tracks.

That bass sounds real cool. I saw them last Friday and that guy playing it in the pic (lead singer Win Butler) gets some bitchin' feedback and noise when he kicks in whatever overdrive he uses with it.

You must play some really light basses. I just weighed my Mosrite Ventures bass and it weighs 8.5 lbs.

My old Mosrite Ventures' model was pretty light and had a skinny neck to boot. Never played what I would consider a "heavy" Mosrite.
