WHAT BASS WOULD YOU USE???

I'd use my Abe Rivera custom 4 string. Been playing it since I graduated high school ('86) and to this day, it's still the easiest playing, best sounding bass I've ever played. Big gig, I wanna feel as comfortable as posssible with my bass!

If I was pulling a bass off my wall and it was a situation where I was "replacing" someone who usually used a 4-string Music Man or Fender type bass, I'd take one of my Music Man Sabres. Otherwise it would be my Alembic Mark King / Series II 5-string.

Abe!! It pains me that I never got a Rivera!! What part of Long Island you from? And when did you first meet Mike Frost? LOL... :)

Hah! A fellow Frosty! I live in Wantagh, but grew up in Woodmere. I met Abe back in '86. I had already bought this bass (thru Frost who I studied with as far back as '83 - 1st teacher). I had Abe build me a 5 string fretless in '87 or '88. Awesome experience, he let me pick the woods out myself, color (purple burst), etc. Still love both those basses to bits, just don't get to use them as much as I'd like live since I'm not really in any projects now that they'd be a good fit for.
As far as Mike Frost, I still stay in touch with him on FB. He's a MONSTER!!!!!!
