I'd use my Abe Rivera custom 4 string. Been playing it since I graduated high school ('86) and to this day, it's still the easiest playing, best sounding bass I've ever played. Big gig, I wanna feel as comfortable as posssible with my bass!

You know, just for the hell of it, I'm tempted to say that if something that improbable were to happen, I'd borrow a tuba with a clip-on mic and run that through their rig.
I've never even played a tuba. But I feel it would make the occasion even more memorable.
For 99% of bands Fender Am. std. J or P hands down
