Following suggestions in the old thread, here is part 2.

Tonight I found a store that sells individual bottles so I picked up:

As well as Flying Dog Hefeweizen and India Pale Ale.

And still in the fridge I have Flying Dog Raging B**** and Goose Island

I don't drink anything fancy. I like Killian's Irish Red, nice and smooth going down. That's good enough for me. ;)

I'm a fan of Killian's myself, but I've found that they can be somewhat inconsistent in quality. It seems that in every six pack I buy, two will be great, three will be okay, and one will be pretty bad.

Tried a Sam Adams Nobel Pils last night. Very interesting and complex. Great session beer.

My Belgian saison won 2nd place in the French-Belgian category at a local homebrew competition. Not bad. No points for my Russian imperial stout, although it was only 2 weeks into bottle conditioning and I rushed it a bit to get it to appropriate carbonation in time for the competition.

It's been 2 weeks now and I still have that blasted sinus thing going on that I mentioned in part 1 of this thread, and I can't taste or smell a thing. I was standing next to a fire today (neighbor was burning brush), smoke billowing in my face and couldn't even smell that! So, since I can't taste or smell I'm just sucking down a Yuengling Lager. Meanwhile that Chatoe Rogue Black Lager and Weihenstephaner Korbinian in the fridge continue to mock me....

I'm having the very sweet Ska Brewing Nefarious Ten Pin imperial porter right now.

Ska Brewery is pretty popular around here, good brews. Had a Modus Hoperandi last night.

Also had a Guinness Foreign Extra Stout the other night. Definetly better than a Guinness as it just had more flavor and bite in the hops and malt departments, and it was nice and strong too at 7.5%.

Halfway through a bomber of Great Divide's Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. One of my favorite beers. I had it on tap a while back and when I saw it on sale (April is craft beer month at Binny's locations in Chicago) I had to get it.

Last night I had two new-to-me Bear Republic beers, their Big Bear Black Stout and Hop Rod Rye. The stout was okay but the rye was a great variation on an IPA.

Finally started getting my sense of taste back after that long bout of sinus crap. So, I popped open the Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel and am enjoying it now. May do the Korbinian tomorrow, haven't decided yet; got a long day of yard work ahead.

Okay guys. I've had six different brews in six days and this is how they stacked up:

Sam Adams Boston Lager - Meh. The flavor is weak, and yet super hoppy. I wouldn't buy it again.
1554 Belgium Black Ale - I enjoyed this. There's a slight coffee flavor, but it's very smooth and clean tasting.
Magic Hat #9 - A unique but solid brew. I like it, but can understand others finding it kinda funky.
Tap Room Amber - This one was a bit of an enigma to me. It wasn't bad as a darker amber beer, but it didn't scream 'buy me again' either. I'd like to try this on tap before I judge it.
St. Paul - It's a pale lager, that's for sure. If that's your thing then it's pretty good, but if you're a fan of darker brews then I'd skip it.
Purple Haze - My friend said it tasted fruity. Honestly, I couldn't taste it much at all thanks to my sinuses acting up. It tasted like a very smooth, but fizzy glass of water. I'd buy it again though, cuz it wasn't bad at all.
