What beer are you drinking (or rating) II: second bottle

I just picked up a 6-pack of Atwater Brewery's Vanilla Java Porter, brewed in Detroit, MI. It's really good when accompanied with a Hershey's Chocolate bar.. Haha. I just turned 21 in July, so I'm still green in the world of alcoholic beverages. Hoping this thread can suggest some tasty brews to sample.

I'm not a "drink until drunk" kind of guy, at all. Just looking to try some new thing and see what is available.

Well, the vast majority of beers posted in this thread are excellent choices. Maybe start at post 1 and work your way through?

Haha, thanks guys. I just got a 12-ounce of New Holland Dragon's Milk. Pretty excited to try it; found it through a post in this thread. I've just discovered a really nice liquor store that sells individual bottles, including a lot of Michigan beers (I like Michigan and local business!) so I'm pretty excited about that. No more having to buy a 6-pack without knowing if I like the stuff! Thanks again!

I smoked a meatloaf today and a friend brought some North Coast Brother Thelonious Belgian ale. Smooth but a bit fruity for my tastes. The smoked meatloaf, however was outstanding...

Grilled up some steaks last night. Made beer bread using Budweiser, which turned out deliciously. As my beverage of choice, I had a New Holland Brewing Company Dragon's Milk. I didn't like it.. At all, really. I assume I just haven't cultivated an affinity for beer, but I found bitter and somewhat offensive to the senses. Anxious to keep sampling, though. Oktoberfest of some kind is next on my list!

the girlfriend and I went to a bar, I skipped out on volunteering for today in a week-long event at the U - I figure I've been going to every event early to help set up and spent extra time to help tear down before going to work, practically every day since friday, and they haven't even been regularly feeding me, which they said they'd do. So yeah, I skipped, I figured I wanted to relax a bit and just hang out with the girlfriend before going to work.

I ordered a delerium tremens, and she ordered fruli. To be honest, while delerium wasn't "bad" in any sense - it was sharp and hoppy, and I could have sworn I tasted some apricots, I just wasn't in the mood for a beer that required all that attention to flavour. I think I would have preferred getting a $4 tallboy of PBR, plus I think that they really didn't serve the beer properly - it was ice cold and didn't have any head, which wouldn't have changed my mind but still it's worth mentioning.
