I almost tried a Hite beer tonight at this Asian fusion joint the wife and I went to. Anyone had it? Is it any good? Korean Budweiser?

What beer are you drinking (or rating) II: second bottle

Got these two just now:
One's for me, one for a very good friend of mine. We've decided that every time we see each other, we're trying a different beer. Last time was Karmeliet Tripel, this time it's Maredsous Tripel and I think it's gonna be either St. Bernardus 12 or Rochefort 8 next time. Or maybe Judas, or Golden Carolus.

Had a Goose Island Bourbon Stout the other night. Worth every penny I paid for it at the bar. Super creamy and great bourbon flavor.. so freaking good.
I'm at home so my broke college ass gets good beer. Dad had Flying Dog IPA and Scratch Amber. The IPA was heads and tails more my taste of beer, but the amber wasn't bad at all.
Unfortunate that Goose Island was recently bought out by Anheuser-Busch. I was a fan of their brews but doubt I'll ever be able to go that route again.
On topic no. I'm drinking Founders Centennial and will follow up with Bluegrass Brewing Pale Ale a little bit later.
My brother was in the United States a while back, and he ordered a Stella at a bar. The bartender said "you aren't from around here, are you?", to which my brother replied "no, how'd you know?".
The bartender said "Because Stella's a wife-beater beer"...
Has anyone ever heard of this?
Stella is the new Heinekin. I guess it's a step above light beer, but I suppose my bias is as a homebrewer. I've never been much of a lager guy as is, but it's an odd one in the the sense that the overall palate is dominated by off flavors. The green bottle and fragility of lagers in general does not do it any favors. On top of that, something about Belgian lagers seems so wrong to me, but that's just a side note.
LOL, I'm not a beer snob, but a beer educator...although not certified as a beer judge, at least not yet. Anyway, beers like Heinekin and Stella have the redeeming value of being a bit of a gateway to higher quality beers. I consider pilsners and wheat beers to be a decent starting point, without being too much of a shock to the system, although seasonals and weather conditions should theoretically play a role in a beer at a given time.
That being said, I've been REALLY impressed with the Sam Adams Noble Pils. It's a nicely done beer and exceptionally perfect for this time of year.
Mmm, fresh bread, caramel rolls, and Mojo Risin' IPA from Boulder Brewery today. I should go home waaaaaaay more often lol. Got some Mojo IPA (my personal favorite of all friggin time) left for tonight with elk steaks and Bloody Mary's for after church tomorrow.
I'm not super-stoked on the Noble Pils--my roommate, however, is in love with it.
Last beer I really got excited about was the Dogfishhead Midas Touch.
Which, of course, illustrates our differences--he's much more into traditional beers done well, and I'm more interested in drinks that make me go "this is beer?!"

Noooo! Pack it up quite carefully & send it to me. I will run complete tests on its toxicity.

The other night I had a River Horse Oatmeal Milk Stout. I think I am in love with that beer. I am going to have to track down some more River Horse beer and try their others.

Well, the thing I'm happiest about here locally is that Dos Equis amber on tap is here. And, the Mexican joint down the road apiece from me has 32 oz'ers for $2.50.
