If I could I most certainly would, it's a good choice, I'm sure you've got something put aside somewhere though
I've another fav from a tiny brewery here, can't remember the name at the mo tho', it's called 'Humpty Dumpty's Downfall', v.nice ale.

I'm gonna try and hunt one of those down tomorrow.
I did like it. It smelled pretty hoppy in the glass but the hop taste was not as strong as the smell. I don't care for super hoppy beers and this one seemed to nail it for me with a good balance of malt & hops. It is kind of a genre bender, but I like it. I'd drink another one right now if I had it, but for now this Lazy Magnolia will do nicely. Funny, it has not even a hint of pecan flavor....

I concur! Murphy's Stout is usually my Sunday morning drink. There are a couple of places around me that have it on tap.
I just picked up a couple of Fuller's London Porter's. I am no beer expert. Half the crap you guys talk about I have absolutely no clue about, but I love it!
If I'm feeling any better with my cold, I'll try one out tonight. I'm definitely more of a stout guy, but a porter sure does sound appealing.
Well, the thing I'm happiest about here locally is that Dos Equis amber on tap is here. And, the Mexican joint down the road apiece from me has 32 oz'ers for $2.50.
I liked the draft amber as well, esp. mating with a good BBQ, but found it a bit inconsistent in the bottle.
Here's some I tried this weekend:
Fuller's ESB - Good tasting beer. Not heavy, but still full of flavor. I'd definitely buy again.
Fuller's London Pride - This one I wasn't too crazy about. It was just okay.
Speckled Hen Fine Ale - I was the most excited about this one and completely let down by it. It had a harsh flavor and overly burnt taste.
Pick Axe Ale - This one just tasted weird (almost rubbery). I'm glad I didn't pick up its maple flavored cousin brew.
Flying Dog Pale Ale - Should be called Flying *****. This beer wasn't any good.
Red Seal Ale - Pretty tasty. It had a slight nut flavoring to it, which accompanied the full body really well. I'd buy a single of it again.
Xingu Black Beer - Really tasty beer with a slight coffee flavor. I'd definitely buy it again.
Shipyard IPA - I bought this on a whim. It's a decent IPA, but it's not something I'd buy again.
Bass - Really tasty and smooth. I'd definitely buy it again.
Estella - This one also tasted really good. I'd buy again.
Rogue Dead Man's - I was really excited about this one, but was kinda let down by it. It was really bitter and bold, but not in a good way.

It's very possible that it doesn't travel very well.
I spent my university career able to see the Boddington's brewery out the lab window. It tastes very different 6000 miles away. I'm guessing the same applies in this case.
I bought a sixer of this on last weeks beer run and am still working on it. I find it to be a bit odd in that it tastes sweet; not a malty sweet but a sugary sweet. When I licked my lips later after finishing it, it tasted like....sugar.....it is very smooth and I kinda like it even though I don't want to......

Stouts and porters are very closely related styles, and with some from each category I'm sure you could label a stout a porter or vice versa and no one would bat an eye. Porters I guess are heavier on the chocolate malt (unroasted dark malt) whereas stouts focus more on roasted malt, but that's a fuzzy distinction.
Fuller's London Porter is a great, great example of the style. I'm guessing the stouts you're familiar with are mostly of the Irish Dry category, stuff like Guinness and Murphy's. This won't taste quite like those, but they're just one branch of the stout tree. Stouts and porters are my favorite styles for sure, even though I drink a lot of other stuff.
Well it has got a slight burnt toffee edge to it and a little bite that's true, though I'll say as a moderate tobacco smoker unfortunately, I tend to go for food/drinks with some edge to register them. But it's an acquired one I think, quite strong tasting.
I'm going to crack open my founder's Centennial IPA on tuesday to celebrate having gone through my first year at the U with my first real IPA (real as in not alexander keith's). I'm actually VERY excited.

Can't be a "real" Trappist since it is a very controlled appellation. Trappist-style yes, but not a true trappist beer.
As for myself, the last beer I had was:
A: Two fingers worth of beige head. Very creamy looking. Retention is very good and lacing is really good. Deep deep brown color, perfectly translucent.
S: Actually, this is much hoppier than expected. There is a definitive amount of piny resins, grapefruit and pineapple. There are molasses, vanilla, toffee, tobacco, peat and licorice. Raisins, dark cherries, plums for the dark fruits. Very fruity, very hoppy and very malty. So good and so complex. Not very strong though.
T: There are again a good amount of hops. It's good that there are there since there is also a very good amount of malty sweetness. Pine, grapefruit and pineapple are there. For the malty sweetness, there are tons of dark toffee, molasses, licorice, vanilla, tobacco (not much peat though). Quite a burnt malt type of taste. Finally, tons of dark fruits like cherries, raisins, plums. Some kind of port quality.
M: Massive massive mouthfeel. Very thick, creamy and sticky. Low carbonation. Perfect.
O: A really nice experience. I'm very happy to try one beer of this malt heavy brewery. Very nice bottle. The beer is quite drinkable (if the scoring was still there it would be 3.5). I really wish I could get more of this.
