what can go wrong with amps?

hey everybody

I recently bought a brand new no brand amp. Basically the volume and gain were both below half and after finishing playing 2 songs there was a popping sound and it seems to have lost all of its sound. I can only hear a little bit of sound when gain and volume are maxed out. I think i learned my lesson about no brands hehe.

So im just curious. What generally can go wrong with amps? How do they brake? btw this question is for all amps from the worst to the best

cheers

Just do a search or scan the "Amp" threads and you'll find a myriad of complaints pertaining to preamps, power amps, speaker enclosures, etc. Learn by others' misfortunes. As a general rule, you can guarantee an early demise by driving any component beyond its designated limits.

Better luck with your next purchase.
