What can we possibly expect from Yamaha taking over Ampeg?

For sure - the CTS-V is a damned four-door Corvette. I'd like to see Ampeg stay with the tried-and-true, but also to introduce more in the Class D space and maybe some more fun preamps. I think if any company was to do this well, Yamaha's the one to do it.
OSB or MDF? OSB is chipboard, commonly used for roofing, flooring, etc. I'm not saying they didn't use OSB, just never heard of it for cabinets of any sort. They did up until the year 2000. Then they got all muddy sounding from a change in the speakers. Finally got fixed sometime in 2006.
Yamaha need replace the BA series cooling fans with silent one.
Redesign the suck looking BA V2 series and reduce weight.
Use higher quailty capacitor on PF class D head.
Decrease the selling price.

BA2 is gone it's BAv3 now. I own a BA108v2 and it's excellent for a small combo.
I have a PF-350 and have already pounded it without a hiccup. Runs like a champ.
I paid $299 for my PF-350 brand new. My Ampeg PF-112 cab is plywood. For its performance my Ampeg stack is quite a bargain. Much better made than similar brands. Industrial strength pressed steel frame. Solid knobs with a metal faceplate.
Ampeg may have made a lot of mistakes in the past but I own some of their current gear and it's TOP NOTCH all the way. I hope you have owned some of the equipment you're criticizing.

Before I go with hartke KB15, I been try BA V2 150 and 210 combo, the fan noise are seriously notible.
Shame that i dint own a PF350 personally, but I play with Ampeg V4B and Mesa D800 head at my band.

You are, however, right that Ampeg is still on V2.
One smart move Line 6 could do now that Ampeg is now a sub-brand of Line 6 would be for Line 6 to actually label all their Ampeg bass head and cab modeling products with "Ampeg". Just the Ampeg ones, they can keep their other models generically named. Having "Ampeg" on the names would help sell more models to the doubters.
I don't know what Line 6 will do with IK Multimedia relation but the Line 6 models are always very good. Both Line 6 hardware and software modelers are very good and work equally the same. There is still a market for a pedal, but internally it's the same as a software modeler.
One valid use of a software or hardware modeler is to let people try before they buy a hardware version of an Head and Cabinet. Then if it they like it they can always buy the hardware.
Another good news tidbit is RCF bought AWG from LOUD. This is good for both AWG and RCF. It looks like all LOUD has left if brands like Crate that they drove into the ground. I am curious where these will eventually land. I doubt LOUD has anyone working these leftover brands.
These LOUD sell-off's are good and better than a resource action they originally did firing everyone from SLM. LOUD was probably going to cut these again but managed to sell off what they could. They seem to have enough goodwill to sell them to companies that can make them great again.

I have a question on Ampeg's site on the classic cabinet section the regular 810e is stating that it's made of baltic birch and all the other cabs are made of poplar, is this still the case or do they need to update there site on what they are making their cabinets with wood wise.
Ah but it's still inexpensive crap. In the digital relm it's quite economical to make lots of gizmos that attract the younger Generations I know I was once younger myself.
Yes the larger market segment is the cheaper crap no doubt that's what the companies are selling and pushing and making money off of to them it's not about making a quality product it's about making a profit older companies were interested in making a profit as well but they generally were interested in making a high quality product.
Many years ago a good number of machinery and equipment were engineered and designed with the intention of lasting forever now the intention is using a device for a few years and throwing it in the trash yes the model has changed and we the consumers have fed this model by consuming inexpensive cheap crap.
I started working in the music industry full time in 1975 so my opinion is not anecdotal as well.
As the younger Generations get older they want higher quality in less complicated bullcrap it happens over and over again period as a musician matures he or she realizes they want to spend their time making music and not playing with equipment.
