Not everybody needs or wants a Ferrari or a Bentley. Sure, they'd be nice to have, but for the same reasons many of us don't play a Sadowsky or a Pedulla etc.
If you compared your favorite bass to a car, what would it be? I play MIM Fender Active Deluxe Jazz basses (2) and I've got them tweaked so that they're great basses. Good solid working basses with great sound and action.
They're a lot like my car, a Toyota Avalon . . . reliable, dependable, good fit & finish, definitely not a Ferrari or Bentley, but it gets me where I need to go and with comfort and good looks.
