What clip on tuners are you using?

My current favorites are the tc Unitune and Peterson Stroboclip: excellent performance, sturdy, reliable. I have also had good luck with Korg clip-ons. I started out using Snarks which performed OK when they worked, but haven't had the longest lifespans (broken ball joint, or it just stopped working period).

I've had the tc Unitune for many years. Downside is that the rubber coating on the clip messed with the nitro finish on the back of my Sadowsky headstock. Fortunately that finish was already well broken in so I don't care, but hopefully tc is using a different rubber on the clip these days.

I'd say the Peterson is #1, but it's also the priciest.

I've used that, and the unitune, and the Snark, and a couple of others that I don't remember. Never the D'addario though, but they all don't tune as well with the low B string as I would like.

If the piano is going, a few times I've had to walk away and tune at a distance. Never a problem with a pedal tuner. But to be honest, if I don't bring my pedal board, I use the unitune. That's once in a great while.

I enjoy messing around with tech bits, so I'm trying the Peterson and a TCE Polytune. Still forming my opinion, the Polytune I'm moderately positive about. The Peterson annoys me so far, but I need to give it more time. It seems slower.

I love my Sonic Research turbo tuner though, great strobe pedal tuner.

i've tried so many of them in my classroom.

the snark ones are nice, but they do break easily.

the peterson one i have at home/bought myself, it's really expensive but really works the best.

the boss ones are cool because they're rechargeable.

When I need to use one - it's the TC. (the one Sweetwater has that's not Poly are a few bucks cheaper) EDIT: The UniTune - but I have the Poly too...
The spring loaded clip is plenty secure - without being "too much" and not plastic like the !@#$ Snarks.

I use the when I don't take a pedalboard - all of which have Turbo ST-300 minis.
(never liked the Pederson display for whatever reason)

I've had a bunch of Snarks, and either gave them away, or threw them away. They either break, go dim, or just stop working.

I will now only use the D'Addario Nexxus 360. It's USB recharge, rotates and tilts in any direction, very bright and accurate. I have five to spread around my 15 bass ukes and 7 tenor ukes, and actually just improved them to a degree by swapping the larger clip with the smaller clip from the D'Addario Mini.

The newer D'Addario Eclipse, the D'Addario Nexus 360, TC Unitune, and the Snark Titanium are all good and I use all of them; they also stay in place (I get pretty active on stage).

I've given away a bunch of others, more than I can count or remember. I've tried maybe a dozen or so, these are the best IME.

Korg Pitchhawk (x2).

Not crazy about their ball joint swivel design but I’m careful and haven’t snapped one as if yet.

They’re handy to have around the house and as backups.

I don’t like Snark. They break too easy. Also, I have to be able to read the display when playing outdoors. I have a couple old Seiko n-line tuners that I’ve had for many years. They still work great, but don’t clip on to my headstock.
