I am wanting to upgrade my rig soon. I play mostly neo funk and slap/pop (similar to RHCP) with some blues, jazz and rock, I am going crazy trying to choose what configuration is best for me. I need to cut through a guitar, keyboards, drums, congas, and various percussion instruments (we also have afro cuban influences).
Should I get a 2X12 such as a Shroeder or should I get a 4x10/1x15 or a 8x10 cab What is the best configuration for what I need. I have been spending hours (I'm on disability) on this amp forum when I am not practicing trying to figure out what would be best for me so that I can focus on one configuration and then find the brand for me instead of playing pinball in my head
trying to figure out what is for me. Money is an issue, but I am done with the budget amps and cabs (I currently use a GK Backline 210). So if I have to piece it together then I will, I just want quality at a decent price and combo's are not out of the question.
I have the bass I want (Geddy Lee strung with GHS boomers .045-.105), now I just need to find the config I want. I definately want to be able to play small to medium sized shows without pa support if need be. So many questions running through my head. Is a 2x12 more for me than a 4x10 or is an 8x10 what I want or 4X10/1X18.............

wow sounds like a great combination and I could get one cab and then the other when I get some more scratch $$. Have you had any playing time with a config like this and if so what did you like about it? If I decide to go with this what would you purchase first the 2x12 or the 4x10?
