What did I just do

On my daily cruise around the ebay and craigslist areas I run across just about everything you can imagine.. OMFG.. I shot a guy a stupid low price on a double neck 5'er Fretted on top Fretless on bottom..
BAM!! He okayed the price sent me a invoice and it is now on it's way.. What the hell am I going to do with a double neck bass??? Sometimes I have to laugh at myself for being such a dumb ass.. Really.. I am always throwing out crazy pricing and low ball offers on different kinds of things. I mean, I don't offer $200 for a MIA Fender or $400 for a Ric, but some made in China double neck, I just sent an offer for the fun of it, then I watch the auction to see what it eventually goes for.. Oh man.. Nuts indeed

It actually looks really neat. I hope it plays well. But it has to weigh a ton.

I have 3 guitars and a six string bass that were all bought due to the "I'll just put in the lowest possible bid. Someone will outbid me for sure!" mentality o_O

One of the guitars turned out to be pretty sweet - a Gibson Super Dove - one of the few available (if you can find one at all) without headstock damage.

The six string? I haven't really figured out what to do with it. Four strings is enough of a challenge, and I've been having a love affair with a White Falcon drool that I just bought here on TB :bassist:

Shipping was $50 and no case. Have not looked for a case yet, but if they are running $200, that would be more than the bass!! YIKES>> May just have to keep it in my stand

Case is no problem. Somewhere here on TB is a thread describing the case I made for my Wishbass. Here is a picture (but not the case thread)

In praise of WEIRD LOOKING basses! | TalkBass.com

It's basically a cheap keyboard case from GC that I put a piece of styrofoam in the bottom covered with 'fun fur" with cutouts and bumps (one shown in photo as then yet uncovered) to hold the bass. Works great!

I do LOVE this score of yours. Yeah, it's not practical as a go to bass, but it doesn't have to be! Cripes. It's so cool you don't even have to PLAY it! Just standing there WEARING it is enough! :) Sure my fretted-fretless pair of blueburst USA G&L L2500 basses is more practical, but if I owned that double necked thing, I KNOW that from time to time I'd HAVE to rock it just to show class!

This is what you do.You get a keyboard stand and lay it flat on it.Then you learn to play both necks touchstyle.

OR you can hang it vertically on your chest with your head above and between the headstocks and play it like two Chapman Sticks.

I personally think it's a great investment for what you paid. Currently, I am on the hunt for an 8 string 4 string double neck bass (with 24 frets on each of course), so if you are anyone reading this now can send me a link to buy one, please do :-) Thank you in advance.
