I learned that going without sleep will eventually catch up to me, whether I like it or not.

Everybody must learn something each day, or at least once per week.

Today I learned that squirrels swim. Forty-two years living in the midwestern USA, plenty of time outdoors, and I never knew that. I mean, it stands to reason once you think about it, but it never did occur to me to check up on that until today.

What did you learn today?

Part of our review cycle @ work allows my direct reports to review me(no names). This is my 1st director position, and I've made a lot of changes this year. So, it could've gone either way, in my head at least. I was a bit anxious to say the least. What I learned is that my people are very pleased and it seems they are very happy that I'm running the group now. All this was before they saw their increases, which I improved greatly over last year. Anyway, I know their words were sincere and more than money related.

I'm still feeling my way around, but I do know that I have a very good team. I just try to give them the respect and recognition they deserve. It choked me up a bit reading some of their comments

Here's more if you want to keep on learning- onions don't need to be refrigerated, and what's more, it's a bad idea as other products pick up onion odours, especially butter.
