Sorry to read about your dad's passing, and I agree with all that you said after about making peace and communicating things while you can. After i moved 3,000 miles away 12 years prior and only spoke with the folks (mostly mom) every few weeks, I did get to talk on the phone to my father a few days before he passed away rather unexpectedly. We had a brief but really nice talk that ended with assurances of love on both sides... and that feels really really good to think back on. I have called my mom practically every day since 2012 just to check in for 5 minutes. I know her clock is ticking a bit faster these days, and I already know there's going to be so much I wish I had asked her about when I can no longer do so.My dad recently passed away. I’ve learned that I will never hear my dads voice again. Take the time to get right with your parents while they are alive. Once they are gone, they are gone. Take the time to ask them everything you can, and if you do, let them know you love them. Don’t wait, because you never know when the end comes.
Don’t wait to do what you can do today.
