Never come across it. I think it's probably one of those things that old dudes on the internet spend too much time obsessing over instead of actually playing.

I voted “Ignore them.” I haven’t said anything about caring about it at all, but I do know what it is.

I can’t help it if you’ve never heard about it and I have, no need to get aggressive with strangers, no need to involve your ego at all. You should probably just go make yourself happy somehow that doesn’t involve your vast 23+ year knowledge of instrument repair, it doesn’t seem to be ringing the bell for you.
