What do you do for the environment?

Air drying is fine and all, but you can't do it to towels. You just can't.

My parents actually decided they were going to air dry all our towels. Now I don't like showers anymore...

As for me, I don't leave my trash on the ground, and I recycle. I tell other people to recycle. And I take plastic bottles from my friends to make sure it gets recycled. Because if we have a recycling bin, we might as well use it.

Other than that, I'm not really going out of my way to do anything for the environment.

I quit smoking, so there's no trail of fiberglass cigarette butts behind me anymore.

I don't litter.

I absolutely refuse to put nuclear waste in my trash can.

Also, since CFL's have levels of mercury vapor that are lethal to small children in them, I use only the finest incandescent bulbs until the price of LED bulbs comes down. Oh yeah, I fill up on Premium gas. More octane per gallon, so more bang for my buck, literally.

Other than that, I figure the environment can look out for itself mostly.

I take really short showers, if I can, I try to use as much cold water as possible, even in winter, we have a nice weather over here, so it's not a big problem, plus it's healthy.

Recicle, anything I can in my house.

Don't have a car. But that may be because I'm a student... LOL

I even try to walk when the bus ride it's not a big deal, it helps to keep the body healthy too.

I don't know, there are many enviromental decitions involved in what you buy, so I try to be smart, but man, it's getting hard, more and more products are becoming not friendly to the world... But, well, I do what I can.

Plus, at least one new tree at a year, at least... It's cool, you go to the forest, spend some cool time, and you help the comunity.

I wash my clothes in cold water, even though it cost the same for hot water.
My showers are no more than 3 mins long, once a day even though utilities are included in rent.
I wash my waist length hair once a week.
Reuse containers. (yogurt containers are now pencil holders etc.)
Recycle everything I can, we have a great recycling program in my town.

Tell my roommates to turn off lights, encourage recycling.
Use both sides of the paper before it is recycled

That's it for now..

I donated my car to charity more than two years ago.. so of course haven't purchased a drop of gasoline since then. I also pick up trash when I'm able to .. mostly near bus stops.

I 'air dry' my shirts alot more than I used to.. take them out of the washer, tumble them for 2 - 3 minutes in the dryer then on to a plastic hangers for free evaporation.

Ok, one of you has me beat.

I'm an Industrial Inspector.... Mainly Petrochemical. Chemical plants & oil refineries. I work to keep the goods where they belong... IN THE TANKS & PIPES!!!!! I have a crew of 5. We carpool to work. I also bathe every so often. Pick up my trash when I surf (I don't even throw so much as a cigarette butt on the beach). Recycle when I can.....

I'm no angel, but I try.....:p

Only use public transport or walk (but I am a student who can't drive, so that may be a factor)

Turn off electrical appliances

Put more clothes on when I get a bit chilly (at the moment - when it gets colder I will have to use the heating, but I am in Yorkshire and haven't had my heating on yet, which I think it an achievement!)

My gf is doing a degree in Environmental Science so I have to help the environment. She is trying to get me to reuse plastic bags at the moment

I tried to pickup all that 45acp and 30-30 lead I shot yesterday but I couldn't find much. But seriously, If people are worried about pollution , conventional modern farming is a big one. Eat organic foods! and buy local if possible. You will be healthier and help the enviroment at the same time.
