I did not know that! We didn't get a L&M in Ottawa until the late 90s.

My Warwick Corvette came in a heavy duty metal road case. I wound up selling it as it just wasn’t practical for local gigging.

Attended a "painting party" with my six year old granddaughter Friday night. Went to an outdoor Halloween thing with my 3 and 4 year old grandsons last night. There's plenty to do on off nights ... now that I've cut my projects from four to just one I'm enjoying living a more balanced life. Music ain't everything.

Sundays (every other) I play a dinner/dance gig with the country band.

Since we're in "hiatus" with my impending surgery, I've had a few weekends off. I've gone to see a couple friends' bands but truthfully that's pretty depressing. It's one thing to be able to play and just have a weekend off, but something altogether different when you CAN'T play and that's why you have the time off.

Plus we've been extremely busy helping my mother-in-law organize and move from her large house to a new senior apt complex. Luckily I have my son and son-in-law available to help with large items. After some of those days plans to go watch a band got scrapped when I hit the couch and doze off.

Sounds like a good time.

My band plays and lives an hour or more from me. When I'm not playing Friday night I'm home with the fam. Also, if our nearly-weekly gig isn't Friday night, it's usually Saturday night or Sunday afternoon instead, so it's not a net gain of free time.

Well, of course you do. I don't have any kids, so I get to still behave like a kid, insofar as that is possible when you have knees that go snap-cracle-pop all the time. (I still jump off drum risers, but only if they are 24" high or lower :D)

Stay home and pine because Im not playing...and end up just practicing or going to bed early.

An hour commute from work to get home (90 minutes yesterday due to road closures from storm damage), and once i get home it'd be another 60 minutes to get anywhere someone i know is playing. that just simply isn't happening.
