What do you drive?

Hey Marcus,
What do you think of that Fit? Can it fit a bunch of gear in the back and still get 4 people?
I looked at the Fit. I'd have to say no. Despite that, it is a brilliant package of space efficiency. With both back seats down, it has a rather large cargo area. I'd have bought one, but when I needed to replace my old car, they were very difficult to find. The dealership told me 8 weeks for the manual tranny. At his point, they should be easier to find.

That inline 4.0 6 is a great motor. What in the hell made them discontinue it? :hmm:

Too reliable. They can't have you driving it forever, how would the sell you a new car every couple years?

Fwiw the 4.0 in my 95 Cherokee has 220K on it and runs like a top.

Geo metro, try fitting your gear into that. I always use other peoples' cars for that...
I have a 99 Metro, 4-door, and I can fit my Avatar 212 in the front seat, Schroeder 1210 and Acoustic Image Focus I SIII, and mic stand in the trunk, and 2-3 basses in the back seat. Plus my rolling box for cords and stuff on the back seat as well.

For bigger gigs, or bad weather, I whip out the 97 Jeep Grand...:D

For traveling greater distances, I bought my GF a Toyota Camry. Very comfy, and good on gas as well.

you should see the Focus cars we have here :rollno:

The US probably won't get the second generation Focus that almost the rest of the world have at this point... apparently Ford reckon they can't make a profit from it in the US.

If Ford sold some of their smaller cars from their other international divisions in the US (the new Focus, the Fiesta, the Ka, maybe even the S-Max and Mondeo, and even the Australian-market Falcon for the performance fans) instead of the dull-as-dishwater Fusion, Five Hundred and old Focus, it's probably go a long way to solving their financial woes. The S-Max is a great car... Ford have actually made a sexy minivan/MPV. Behold...

Oh, for the record, I drive a '96 Neon. Not a great car, but it was the cheapest half-decent car I could find with an automatic gearbox (my missus can't drive a manual). Plus, it keeps the father-in-law happy, as he's a bit of a Mopar fanatic and having a Dodge/Chrysler keeps him sweet. :D

Well I'm currently in the midst of getting a '93 Mustang GT Cobra off my cousin. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited:hyper:
