(routinely aired TV commercial over here with a animated Gecko character that speaks with a generic Brit accent..)

Yep, that 1st vid is the classic central Jersey accent as well. I'd consider myself right in that category.

oh yeah, in Philly it's just a little bit stronger, as you go north and east into Jersey it gets diluted a little bit but it's unmistakable

Actually the north Jersey accent is great - they tend to add a "w" to everything.: Dog = doewg, boss = bowss, it's great.

It's funny that you have "carpet capital of the world" in your location...I work in the flooring industry, and there are a lot of mills in Georgia. I love having to call and talk to those southern belles.
I've made my recording on my phone, but I can't seem to get it from there to a computer. It's a 3gp file, whatever that is

All that carpet started from one belle making bedspreads. I married one. She sounds like a cool drink of water. And she teaches Spanish so for a change of pace I get her to talk to me in Spanish and put on a...uh, never mind.
