What effect do Duff McKagan use on the song Slither from Velvet Revolver? What is it? Is it a fuzz or a overdrive or a distorsion pedal? I love that "distorted" tone and I do want to get close to it. If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks

He uses a fuzz in the intro. MXR El grande
I don't know what was used, I figured it was just an overdriven SVT ?
Im pretty sure he uses GK amps exclusively. Not sure if that's changed though or not. Other than that, that El Grande fuzz sounds about right. I'm pretty sure he also uses a mammoth fuzz as well. Not much of a dirt guy.
Using Fenders now aswell and raves about the OD side

I've never used a Bass balls but I thought it would be a lot more distorted than that! Interesting.
Bass Balls? That's an envelope filter...
Ok, I'll try it. How do you know it's that specific fuzz from MXR? I use a Bass Big Muff but it's not the same tone and sound
