What does it take to become a Mod?

-A little black book with poems in
-A bag with a toothbrush and a comb
-Elastic bands keepin' your shoes on
-Swollen hands
-Electric light
-Second sight
-Amazing powers of observation
-Obligatory Hendrix perm
-Pinhole burns all down the front of your favorite satin shirt
-Nicotine stains on your fingers
-A silver spoon on a chain
-A grand piano
-Wild staring eyes
-A strong urge to fly

But even then will there be nobody home when he tries to get through? ;)

what does it take?

What with all the explosive discussions and various hard nosed opinions and personalities on TB, myself included, I'm more curious WHY someone would moderate such a forum and, HOW do you decide what to keep - I find just as many posts that bend the rules than stay within them, and I wouldn't want the task. That said, in the time I've been here I've had nothing but respect for the way the moderators allow threads to self moderate until critical mass is almost achieved.
