What effect is this band using?

I recently stumbled across this band called Purple Hill Witch, they're like a modern day Black Sabbath. You can find their stuff on youtube. Anyways I'm wondering what effects their bassist uses? (besides distortion/fuzz) Is that a flanger? Wah? Synth? Phaser? Take a listen and help me out!

That's more like it!

Definitely a wah - likely a 105q Crybaby, a fuzz with an Overdrive ahead of it, and a Rickenbacker.

Look into some of the @rratajski 's FUZZROCIOUS pedals for terrific fuzzes/distortions. ;)

And a lot more than fuzz and distortion ;)!

The bass is pretty clear in this song. Now please have a listen and tell me what bass effects you think he's using. Thanks.

Well, CLEARLY the effect he’s using is AWESOMENESS...

Seriously, thank you for posting this...

I am constantly on the lookout for quality heavy Stoner/Doom/Sludge Metal bands, but don’t always know where to look or end up listening to a bunch of random bands on Pandora and iTunes where it’s hard to remember who I like and why (it all sorta starts to run together after a while-Not entirely unlike the music...

This is pretty freaking epic, so just wanted to tell you thanks for sharing...

Thanks! \m/

Fuzz and wah or envelope filter is most of it. Something is doing a little spatialization on the envelope (mutator does this, so do delays- it's really muddy so it's hard for me to hear if delay or filter) - meaning when the filter hits, the the filtered signal is also on the right stereo (while the fuzz bass and some filtered signal is on the left).

Since it's probably a rickenbacker- that could be one signal from the rick is envelope filtered and fuzz and the other is just fuzz and the panning hits from the filter.

There is a ton of compression as well- but I can't tell if that is the bass or the whole track.

I don't know if these will be your cup of tea (except for Yuri Gagarin, they're way more on the "extreme music" end of the spectrum than the song posted by the OP), but as someone who usually does not listen to stoner stuff, I find the following stoner-influenced bands AMAZING:

Particularly Oranssi Pazuzu goes full-blown nuts on effects in general - definitely do check their entire discography if you like what you hear in the song above.
