What effect is this?

I'm talking about Sleeps single release last year called "The Clarity"...an amazing song really. Now I know Al Cisneros uses a seeker effect mid way thru as well as further into it....but wth is the effect at the beginning??

I've been able to nail down the seeker effect on my line 6 fm4, and I'd like to get this intro effect as well.

Any ideas? Here's the track for those who aren't familiar

Ah crap...I think it's the line 6 dl4 that can do the bitcrusher...and I just traded one for my fm4. Well that's my luck lol

Is there a cheap pedal or even a kit that does the bit crushing?

The zoom ms-70cdr has a bitcrush/lo-fi delay that can do it. And i've seen some very cheap analog bitcrushers with just one knob that should do the job.
Ringmodulators is another pedal to look at, can sound very similar.

I use the one in the Zoom B3 fairly often and its pretty good. I would take a look at the CDR Mr Voodoobass suggested also they make a BT model that has many of the same effects that supposed to be pretty nice. There's also the MS60B that has that model. The single stomp sized Zooms can be had relatively cheap.
