Sounds like you got a great deal, buying something that you don't even know exactly what it is or what it does, or probably even if it works properly or not. Plus since this guy is apparently involved in the drug industry, maybe it's even stolen.

I have an old composter in my back yard. Maybe you'd like to pay me $100 for it?

Most people that asked this would get the cookie-cutter response: use the search function. But it's nice that you 'stand up' for the new people.

so nice of you to chime in - of course, not to answer the question asked in the thread, but to sarcastically retaliate. if you're going to post, why not post the answer? why not help?

i pretty much meant what is a cab.. i was jsut saying i had a peavey. im new to the whole set up thing. and when istarted reading abotu cabs..well it jsut boggled my mind...and you can rip me all you want lol, makes me laugh also ..although i laugh at lots of things...ps.. all those respnse inlike 2 hours. this site is goooood

a "cab" is short for "speaker cabinate", you need a speaker to make sound, a "combo" is an amp and a speaker in one box, a "head" is a seperate amp. the bigger the speakers in the "speaker cabinate" the lower the sound frequencys, the more bass. with smaller speakers you get more treble and less bass, this is the rough rule, there are exeptions. there are lots of diffrent types of speaker cabinates, from little ones with single speakers, to massive ones with manny speakers. if you have a "combo", often by adding more speakers you can get more volume. the amp needs a certain ammount of resistance, the speakers give resisitance, the more speakers the more resistance, the more volume. some speakers have a lot of reisitance some only have a little, some amps can power a lot of speakers, some can only power one. now i hope this is a rougth overview of cabinates, now its starts to get complicated, you gets onto "ohms" the measure of resistance, do a search and you will find loads of info. if anything i have said is incorrect feel free to correct me.

hmm i don tkno how to spell it, feening? , phoenin?, feenin?, .. but ya.. the guy was a dumbass who was "pheening" for coke, and so i got a 200 watt peavey amp, it works perfect, everyone says i got a amazing deal.. i woudnt need a cab though until i atleast have shows though and stuff right??

I wanted to know what "pheoning" means too, so I looked it up in Websters Dictionary. .... no definition! Did a Google search, and the best I can figure from the way it's used in a sentance, is that "pheoning" must mean craving or "to want" something. Ya learn something new every day I guess

This thread was the first I've ever heard of that word.(non-word) :rollno:
