Bc rich released there new line of 2016 guitars and i was excited to see some new designs especially basses. However i was sad to see that they cut half of the guitar designs down to 4 shapes. The worst part was they cut all basses except the mockingbird and it only comes bolt on (not that there is anything wrong with bolt on) but i want thru neck for that kind of guitar

When people say BC Rich I always think in 80's metal, I am surprise that there is people still playing them.
Not sure why people think that.

I have a '84 Eagle. I love it and use it as my #1. I play Big Band and musical theater. That bass works great for all of it. I put LaBella quarterrounds on it, and it sounds good and clear. Lots of treble and clarity from the instrument and I control all that at the amp EQ level.
Is that an 18-watt Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister I see?
I have the same head (along with an H&K 1-12"cab) and I love it!
The clean tone is good, but the overdrive is killer....
Yeah, I like to think I can get a pretty decent Lemmy tone, when plugging my 4004 into it.
That's great - I used to play my 4003 & 4004Cii basses through mine too, going for those gritty Lemmy & Roger Glover tones.

I have a friend that owns a Bernie Rico acoustic guitar and it is one of the best sounding and looking instruments I have ever experienced. Nothing against the funky shaped things that came along later, but that guy was a true luthier back in the day.
I agree... when I decided to get back into bass I couldn't decide what to get... was looking at (and yes, they are likely better instruments) the Korean Warwicks. Then I happened to see a bolt-on Mockingbird for sale, and the hunt was on. I had always wanted a Mockingbird back when I used to play, but could never afford one. Now I COULD afford a "real" one, but my intended purpose just doesn't justify it... but I wanted a neck-through. I found a used Mockingbird ST...
Now, I agree with their choice to keep the Mockingbird if they are only going to have one bass... but it really should be offered as a neck-through.

Back when it was released I had two reactions... "Holy crap, something approaching a Bass Solo in a Music Video*!" (*that's not "Show Don't Tell") and "Seriously, the Bassist couldn't handle that or the Guitarist has such an ego he had to make it part of *his* solo break!" 
As for BC Rich, they haven't even seemed to be a presence in the Modern World Of Bass past their business issues of the late '90s/early '00s aside from Bernie Rico's passing. It almost seems as if whoever is producing the brand doesn't mind not making Instruments in the 21st century!
