The hat in your first pick is bad-@$$
I don't wear hats too often, but when I do, it's either:

Another "look" with the Dolphin:Bass came first
Hat chosen for appearances or personae
Nope don't feel odd without it.
I also wear pork pies, and BB caps other times (off stage) or no hat.
I still have a full head of hair, and it was worn long until the last 2 years. Cowboys always my favorite. Even in metal bands.
(this is a country gig)

What HAT makes your bass thump?
So could just be me, but saw a couple of bands over the holidays and noticed something. All the bass players wore hats. Now one LG had a baseball hat on, but the bass players had some style!
One had a straw fedora, one had a English flat/driver hat and one had a Marcus Miller type hat. Now, they all were great players, hats, hair, bald or otherwise but the hats added a little somethin' somethin'.
When did you guys start wearing hats when you played? Do you have a gig hat? Does the hat help the groove?
Show me your HATS !
Thanks. That's a one-of-a-kind EUB built by luthier Balsereit (the same who built the pickups) about 25 years ago. It's tuned EADGC and uses a Balsereit piezo and preamp. Scale is 42" and weight approx. 20lbs. Quite heavy and bulky but great sound.Love your bass!
The Union Jack Steiny is tremendous!View attachment 1039830
not sure what this is; some sort of dime-store cowboy hat...
