What Hat makes your bass thump?

The hat in your first pick is bad-@$$

I don't wear hats too often, but when I do, it's either:

Bass came first
Hat chosen for appearances or personae
Nope don't feel odd without it.

I also wear pork pies, and BB caps other times (off stage) or no hat.
I still have a full head of hair, and it was worn long until the last 2 years. Cowboys always my favorite. Even in metal bands.
(this is a country gig)

Another "look" with the Dolphin:
Black Beauties strings work well on the Dolphin (and white hats work on me)

So could just be me, but saw a couple of bands over the holidays and noticed something. All the bass players wore hats. Now one LG had a baseball hat on, but the bass players had some style!

One had a straw fedora, one had a English flat/driver hat and one had a Marcus Miller type hat. Now, they all were great players, hats, hair, bald or otherwise but the hats added a little somethin' somethin'.

When did you guys start wearing hats when you played? Do you have a gig hat? Does the hat help the groove?

Show me your HATS !

I'm still rockin' it with a gorgeous head of hair, so no hats here.

When male pattern baldness visits, I'll rock that as well!

I was born with a hat on. The only pics of me as a kid without one were school pics! (& indoor pics, mama raised me respectful)

I love hats, & have worn a bit of everything. Never gigged without one in 30 years. Ball caps & beanies in my 20's, something more age appropriate now. Fedora, if the brim-to-hat ratio looks correct, cowboy hats...I've been looking for years for an over-sized sombrero, that would be fun!

Not a hat guy.

Can’t say not ever, because being outdoors in the sun down here can give you all sorts of nasties, but am not, nor never expect to be, a hat guy.

And I’ve seen enough of the trilby - or, as I call it, the “Cuban Pete” hat, from the old Desi Arnaz song - to last me multiple lifetimes.
