What I have learned on TalkBass So Far...

Four-string basses are perfectly fine for all music types, except when they're not.
Five-string basses are the only basses anyone will ever need, except when they don't.
Six-string basses aren't any better than five-string basses, except when they are.

ymmv...... s&m =b&d
romance without finance is a nusance
wood pups and 'tronics dont matter except when i want to trade my ****** bass for your good one.....

but i dont get around much anymore

What I've learned from TB:
More exotic wood the better.
P-bass and jazz are standard for most (except when it isn't)
Flats are better.
Fingers are better.
Short scales not okay.
Pete Wentz makes us all look bad.

My opinions.
I love my p bass especially the neck.
Wood is wood (except when its wood)
My p bass is my standard.
I use a pick and rounds.
At least were not the drummer.
Pete Went sucks.

I have learned:
1. That one have to be in possession at least three boutique basses made of very rarely exotic woods because they rules.
2.Have at least two Fenders P and J ones - 1963 and 1957(manufactured 4th of august 21h and 43 min made from Leo himself ) because they are really genuine ones.
3.Only Ampeg sounds good.
4.Vt bass, sansamp bddi and m-80 are capable to reproduced every amps tone without any lost of any kind - (why the hell ampeg, peavey etc, still manufactured their amps considering these pedals :D )
5.Have to play only with fingers not plectrums.
6.Expensive cables are better ones.
7.300 watts are capable to cover two guitarist, drummer etc. plus 300 peoples crowd.
8.Have to use flats even for metal music.
9.Gene Simmons sucks - i wish i was him.
10.Same with Michael Anthony.
11.Fingerboards make a very huge differences in sound.
12....Bored ...really...
Some peoples have to get life.
