What is most important in your life?

Family is important for everyone who has it so I'm passing that one.If it wasn't for them I'd be dead a long time ago.

For a long while,it's been booze. It is what keeps me on my feet,or on the ground for years. Can't do without it,would lose my sanity (if any left) in a heartbeat.

Hands down my sons.

I've had plenty of great relationships, been lucky in a lot of ways, but never knew the depths of caring possible until I had children. I'm happily last in line in importance and would unquestionably lay down my life for them.

Plus, everything takes on much more gravity.

How many daughters do you have? I thought you had a 14 year old and two 20ish year olds.

You know, he's earning some strange new respect here. Sure, Pacman has already threatened to tear his arms from his still-living flesh, but that's not enough to stop KeithBMI from asking "does she have a sister?" That takes the sort of courage that charges a machine gun nest.

I think the word is "foolhardy"

What's important?

My wife, my daughter, my sons. Everything else is just details.

Is that an original answer? Not at all. That doesn't bother me. I think it says something about what it means to be human. Sure, I love (love!) playing bass. Making music with others is of great importance to me. If it's a choice between the family and the gear, though, there's no contest: I can always buy another bass. I can always find another band. I can never, ever, so long as I live, find another woman like unto her, and I can never again have *these* children. They are irreplaceable, each of them, and I'd gladly lay down my own life if I thought it would buy any one of them another breath. Everything else pales to insignificance when I realize what has been entrusted to me as a husband and father.

Anyways, After reading each and every post, It seems to be a general decision for the most part.

-Family
-Religion
-Health
-Music

Those four were most common.

Other interesting answers...

-Adequate living conditions
-Schooling
-Butt Secks
-Being happy no matter the situation

A few people, Vorago and somebody else, Said they don't know. I fall into that as well. Guess I wanted to see what was important to everybody else so maybe I could see what should be important. This kind of helped, and kind of didnt. I realize that not a single person mentioned work. Work has been stressing me out a ton and I realize that It isn't really worth the 9 dollars an hour to have to do all my work and get stressed out.

Just a bit of an eye opener for me I suppose. I never was one who strived for family. Sure my Grandparents, whom I love with, and my Mom and Brother. Beyond that my family might as well be strangers for all I care. I was never one for relationships either. The idea of having a S/O kind of makes me sick at times. I always had the feeling my life wouldn't be important or successful enough for me to share it with somebody else, or have a child. Having grown up with disappointment, I can not do the same to my kid, so I never ruled it an option. Religion was never anything to me, and It never will be. (no offense to anybody. Believe what you wish, please.)

Off to find what makes me happy I suppose. Ill bring this thread back in time. Thank you.

I hope you find your way, this kind of soulsearching is a challenge, and it starts to weigh on you after a while (imo).

I have one, which is why I posted only one pic. It's not like I have three, and she's my favorite, jeez man.

Besides, if I'd rip your arms off for going near my 12 year old, what do you think I'd rip off before you got near a 20 year old daughter of mine?

What's important to me? Myself.

Whatever I want at whatever moment is the focus of my universe. It takes a bit of effort for me to consider other people's feelings and wants and needs.

Sounds pretty selfish, I'm sure. But I really feel like I'd be lying to you to say otherwise. I mean, family has never been a big deal to me. But then again I'm not married, and I only really take my girlfriend into consideration when she brings to my attention that something's wrong. I only find my friends important due do my enjoyment around them, so it's really my enjoyment that I find important.

Yesterday, I replied to this thread, and I said that the most important is family and friends and being loved by the ones you love...
This seems so simple and so complicated at the same time.
My life has been complicated since last December. I broke up with my gf, after 9 years and having one child together. I'm 30 and I feel like I have to start my life now.
I'm living alone, caring my daughter one week every two weeks.
I kind of have a gf. I think I love her, but I think that for her I'm just some kid of a friend (having sex together).
For the last 6 months I've been thinking about what I want in my future, and I still don't know...
I can't really tell what's important to me. My daughter certainly is but I don't always feel like I'm a good father. I try though. My family (parents and sisters) are important, but I don't often feel the need to see/call them. My "gf" is important... music is important but I could live without, I think.
My job isn't important. It is in a way since it pays my bills, my food, my apartment, car, etc. but I wouldn't care if I had to change tomorrow.
I feel like I want a completely new life. But I don't know where to begin/what to do.
This thread yesterday made me think a lot. The answer to this simple question is hard to find, I guess.

Oddly inspirational. Best of luck to you, really.
