What is the best amp on a budget?

I picked up a MIM Jazz Bass today . I would like to get a bass amp that is powerful enough to play with a band. I am on a budget though. I can spent several hundred dollars but would like to stay under $500. Any suggestions? Looking for the best quality i can for my price range. I am a beginner bass player.

In my opinion that small GK amp is a great choice! Specially if you play upright bass as well!
