What is the frequency of low E on a 4 string?

Great thread, so grateful for all of the details.

Call me crazy but I'm presently building a small system for practice/small venues that will allow me to produce the same frequencies that I would be pushing in a full scale PA rig with a row/stack of subs to compliment the low frequencies.

After everything I've tried, I find that the David Eden (and in turn DNA) circuitry seems to take the best advantage of low frequencies that I've found.

Still choosing my power amp (between crown XLS2000 or Eden WT-1000 right now if I can find one) and I have a David Eden Navigator preamp.

In-between is gonna be the true low-end push.
I've finally managed to aquire a Bag End ELF-1 processor and I have a 2-10 Bag end that can (allegedly) drive the sub frequencies and I'm planning a Greenboy for the mid-high.

Issue I keep finding is extrusion happens as soon as I send the fullness of low-end (even without ELF) to ANY cab that's also handling mid-high.

Of course, I have a unique sound intentionally but I do wonder how viable the signal from the ELF is going to be in ANY setting, let alone a room.

Their info pamphlets (and everyone on here that's used them) alleges that their system will send a flat ±3db signal down to 8hz.

Obviously that's ridiculous and I'm not sure how I could evens make use of frequencies that low (maybe a sub octaver?)

Biggest issue I think I'll find is that a sine wave of 10hz is over 120 feet

Anyway, been some good details to consider in here, thanks for everyone's input, old and new!

Oh, I will say that I'm planning on getting on of their install 212 thin subs to run as the true low end extension, but part of me thinks I'm getting myself into a world of painful load ins and pissing off sound guys

You are going to learn a lot about how difficult, impractical and useless what you are proposing really is.

When using the ELF processor, you will very quickly hit the limits of the 210 cabinet. The ELF processing is not really intended for MI applications.

10Hz? Hope you have a big replacement speaker budget. The best 210 I know of has a 50 watt mechanical rating at 10Hz. The wavelength doesn’t even come into play, as @Redbrangus mentioned above.

I'm not actually trying to take advantage of 10hz, just referencing the physical capabilities of the bag end gear

I'm wondering which sub cab in particular you're planning to use. Also, are you sure the ELF processor is the right one for that sub? I don't know much about the Bag End stuff, but I seem to recall the ELF processors were specific to ELF subs. I could be wrong about that, of course.

There were differences between processing.

There were differences indeed but my understanding is that the infra/elf processors and infra/elf cabinets are cross compatible.

Once again, I may be on a fools errand but I'm tired of nearing extrusion trying to send a full low end....obviously tastefully above the point of mud...

But even that can be tastefully done!

I do tend to get similar responses though...I expect I may not fully take advantage of the sub frequencies but we shall see.

I also play upright bass and the simple ability to actually push the mid-30s range is lucrative

The thread has a lot of basic (you could say, uh, "fundamental" :)) physics, electronics and acoustics information; that info doesn't change over decades. Products and their related technologies can change in that sort of time frame, but the relationships among physical and electrical elements properties don't change (not to mention human perception of those things (the Fletcher-Munson effect has entered the room :)).
