Wow. I have a hard time believing any of those prices with the exception of the MIA P. If those are real, you must be doing something right.

I got my NS2A neck through the body bass (pic in my avatar) for $350. It had been upgraded to EMG's and Gotoh tuners. I think list on it back in the late 80's was about a grand.

2003 USA Deluxe Fender Jazz w/ case (used in excellent condition) for $550 shipped is the best deal I've come across. This was a few years ago and at the time they were right around $1,000 retail new.

I got my G&L L2000 w/ case for $750 brand spanking new at Interstate Music back in 1997 and I occasionally see them go for more than that used now, so I think it was a pretty good investment

I bought my MIA 2001 P-Bass for $750 when I got it... I figured it was a good deal for a new bass that, at the time, was retailed at almost $1000. I'm not a huge spender usually so my purchases are pretty far and few inbetween.

It would be $350 for a Peavey Millennium V. This model was soon discontinued and peavey is known for low resale value, but new, it was a $1,000+ bass. I also got my current 55-02 and Cirrus four for under $600 and $700 repsectively. In the past, I picked up a nice Alembic five string for $800, and nice Roscoe five for $1,200.

Now that I think of it, the best deal I ever had was an Pre-Ernie Ball Stingray with a natural finish ash body and maple fingerboard for $250 back in 1986! Everytime I think of the fact I let it go for an ibanez five string, I get sick all over again!

$400 for my old '92 Jazz Plus V which may be on the high side, but the bass was immaculate - easily a 9.5 out of 10.

I paid $370 total with shipping, for a 1995 Fender Precision Special (MIM), black-backed burst in OHSC. Its all stock and Id say a strong 8.9 (out of 10) in condition. I thought that was one heck of a deal myself (not to mention the first Fender Ive ever owned and I love it more and more each time I play it).

I dunno if this counts as they don't have a huge resale value but I got a 1992 Peavey Foundation 4 string, bright red, with a maple neck for $50. The pots are going and the jack is touchy but even still (local shop quoted it at $65 to fix all of it), I thought that was a heck of a deal as well. The neck is sweet, the body has some light buckle rash on the back and a few nicks but nothing major or really that noticeable.

I just got a natural Peavey Foundation with maple neck and case for $60 myself! I leave it plugged in next to the computer. These basses are EXTREMELY UNDERRATED, for those of you on a budget. Bass looks like carp, and plays like a dream. Perfect.
