1982 Gibson Victory, Standard. Got in '82. My first bass. Still have.
1986 Kubicki, EX-Factor. Got in '87. Still have.
1988 Spector, NS2-A. Got in '89. Still have.

In '82 or '83 I bought a brand new MIJ Squier P bass...black, black pickguard, rosewood board. Man was it nice. Probably had it about 6 years.

I can't think of any other basses I've bought brand new in 40 years of playing. That's odd, but it's never occurred to me.

I've bought tons of brand new acoustic and electric guitars though.

Well, I don't have any of my old stuff anymore due to theft and flood. My music gear has been reduced to a cheap Ibanez acoustic guitar I bought new last year, a couple of ukuleles and an El Cheapo bass I got a couple weeks back.

I do have some meager recording gear, but not even an amp at the moment.

I'm climbing back in the saddle though!

1971ish GuildJetstar. Also a 1977 Ibanez fretless P. Still own both of them.
Edit to say I just realized those are the only two basses I bought brand new. All of the others since then have been purchased used.

I've never bought a new bass either. But, in the early 80's, I helped build a bass which I still have. Starting to think it's getting time to let it go.
