1980 Ibanez MC-924, bought in 1981 (takes awhile for the shipment to get from Japan to the retail outlets in Toronto) — never made it to the wall, straight from the box into my hands.

1981 Vantage VA900B/FL and a 1982 Ibanez MC-940.

Still have all three.

1986 Kubicki, EX-Factor. Got in '87. Still have.
1988 Spector, NS2-A. Got in '89. Still have.

Bought a 1980 Musicman Stingray new and kept it for 22 yrs.

I still own that bass, though I haven't played it since I switched to 5 strings in the mid 90's.

Purchased a new Gibson Ripper in April 1974 from Boston Music. Still have it. Still factory original except for the strings. It’s been my main bass for the last 44 years.

Yes, the date on the neck is 68. You probably wouldn't approve though. . . it was extensively upgraded in the early 90's. Bart PJ pickups and a pre amp. it wasn't original anyway, it needed a refret after about 3 years, the nut broke and I had some problems with the tuners. Not one or Fender's finest, but I liked it. . . . until I moved over to 5 string basses.

Bought a Fender Precision Elite in 1985 and still have it, so 33 years. It is the only bass I still own that I bought new, including my DBs.
