What is the longest...

I can't be the only one hoping for pics. Especially the Jetstar!
20180825_214625.jpg Here you go... The Guild was my only bass for around 5 years so it's got a lot of mojo. The Ibanez is still mint after all these years.

I think I bought my Yamaha in February this year, and I bought the Cort this Friday so 6 months or so.
The Yamaha site says I bought -well, rather registered it so may be a few days off- on February 2nd so soon to be 7 months and that's the longest I've had a bass that has only been mine

amount of time that You have been the SINGLE owner of a bass that You purchased NEW?

1982 Gibson Victory, Standard. Got in '82. Still have.
1986 Kubicki, EX-Factor. Got in '87. Still have.
1988 Spector, NS2-A. Got in '89. Still have.
94 transparent red GSR200. First bass, been playing it since then. Frets are smashed to hell, pickups are rusted, but amazingly it sounds and plays pretty darn well. By far, my favorite bass, even though my other ones are better quality, newer, and sound better. Maybe it's because it's what I learned on, and it was my one and only for like ten years, but nothing I've ever touched has felt better than this guy.

Just to add,
After posting this, I put some strings on her, and had run. Yep, still the best player ever. Oh, I took the stickers off about a year ago by the way.

I get it. Once I became a "player", I acquired a '79 Music Man Sabre. Even though She wasn't my FIRST... She quickly became my NUMBER ONE. I got Her in '88.
NOTHING has come CLOSE, since...

Never bought a new bass, but once I get a bass I usually keep it.

'76 P bought in Spring of '78
'68 P bought in 1980
'92 Carvin LB70 bought in '96
three very close together in the late '90's, can't remember the exact order: Hohner P/J fretless, '76 Gibson Ripper, early hacked defretted MIJ Squier Jazz.
'83 MIJ P bought in 2000
three mutts built in between
'04 Ric 4003 bought a few years ago
'78 fretless Ric 4001 six months later (see avatar)
'11 Modern Player Telecaster bought a few months ago.

Three are presently in the works.

Dude... You're old(er) than Me!!!

I'm the sole owner of an Ibanez Musician MC824DS that I bought new in 1984, replacing the '72 Fender Precision that was stolen. On the six-string side I still have a Galanti that I got in 1965. It's got the biggest headstock I've seen on a non-12-string guitar, two of the weakest pickups and a fretboard with a small radius that renders it nearly useless for leads. But it's been mine for all these years! Thanks, Mom.
