What is this bug?

Tony - I've seen that spider. Except I'm not sure it was a spider. Las Cruces, NM, 1991, at dusk, I pulled into my driveway and got out of my car. When I turned around it was standing next to the passenger door. Blue with a huge red a$$ end. Freaked. Me. Out. I stomped on it as fast as I could, and swear to God, the thing deflated to almost nothing. I don't even remember feeling it crunch. It just flattened.
Don't know what it was. Hasn't been in my nightmares for years; thanks!

These stink bugs are everywhere. They look like they have armor on their bodies.

Yeah those things are awful. Disturb them just a little and they emit a putrid, sweet odor that's just sickening. Yuck.
