What IS this Fender?

Ok...so it's got a Badass bridge, MIA jazz body & neck, but vintage style tuners with a Poly finish body.

It's a late model Highway 1 jazz, before they replaced them with the American Special, they started putting Badass bridges on them. And the finish, though shiny, is a thin matte finish, meant to wear easily over time for that vintage "mojo" look. I preferred these over the American Specials, shame they got rid of them.

Either way, methinks it's a nice bass. I severely missed out on a choice of two HW One Jazzes (with BAII bridges) a coupla years ago, both NOS, and blowout priced well under 500. :rollno: I just didn't have the scratch, but I leaned towards the Honey Blonde finish; would have looked like a banana with a black or tort pickguard, though! :)
