What is this OD/Dist

hey all, i was recently listening to some of my bands older stuff and i really liked the OD on the bass on one of our songs 'Scleratica'. Problem is when we recorded it i didn't own any pedals so it was done with studio effects. i was hoping someone could point me towards a pedal that could replicate the sound.

NB
the song is mono and crackly (like a record) for the first 30 secondsish, so when you hear it dont worry its not your speakers playing up.

and yes i feel like a douche asking what effects to use on a song i recorded lol

thanks all for the help. ive been using my russian big muff for it, but its all but gone from our set list now lol. also thanks for the kind words on the tune :)

if your at all interested the flangery thing in the bridge is the digitech bp50--such a horrible little blue box but i enjoy one or two of its effects lol

Friggin sweet song! I'll try to get a clip with some super-simplified lines and a setting off of my DS-1 that I had modded that sounds very similar. You can mod your own if you or someone you know is handy with a soldering iron. The thread for the value changes is here. I purchased mine directly from BassJunkie730, but I don't think he's modding them any longer. :atoz:

Just shot off a quick clip. Bass is my MIM Jazz with D'Addario flats, both pickups on full, tone on full, going into the DS-1 set as tone @ 11:00 dist @ 1:30 level @ 9:00 (seemed like the closest to unity).
This was recorded into a Tascam US-144 direct into Garageband with no post processing and all effects turned off.

First is clean tone, then the DS-1 is kicked on.
