Looks like an Azola bass to me, famous for their electric upright. Steve Azola have since retired.
If you'd provide links to the pics you posted, we might be able to walk back from them and determine provenance. In the meantime,

When I searched Azola archtop fretless acoustic bass... multiple pictures of this bass came up. Just match your headstock logo against the pics you find. Steve Azola was a builder in California. His old website is mostly a grave yard but you can read a bit about the history and probably find lots more if you search his name.

Reviving this zombie thread to clarify a couple of things about this instrument. It is a an Azola Deco Bass. Steve built this one for the 1999 summer NAMM show which is where I saw it and fell for it hard. It was my main bass for about ten years and went through a few changes. In the first pic it still has the original bridge but the original wingslot pickup had just died and been replaced by a Gage Realist....I did eventually install a cleaner input jack. It's also got the custom Kent Armstrong split single coil magnetic p.up that came on and off as my mood and or volume situations changed over the years. The second pic where I'm sitting with it it has the individual piezo bridge Steve made for me on a visit to Rancho Bajo in the spring of 2001. That's the one that always sounded best to me and what got used the most. 2009 I let it go. Major regret. I still miss it.
