Ya I need a bass first and foremost. Starting to play again after 20 years. The amp in not as important. I would not want to amplify my current ability hahaha

You'll want an amp sooner or later. That one would be all the at home practice amp you'll ever need and would work for a low volume jam, etc. The bass could be OK or a piece of junk. As smcd said, you can get a pretty nice bass for <$200.
