What is your favorite bass cab mic?

I've used an Audix OM-1 (original) for loud cabs with great results and then anything at studio volume, a Lawson LDC

the 421 would be a good choice too, not a newer one though

in order:

a good DI.
U47
apex 460
many mic's that sound good on toms work well on bass.
ditto that for kick mics. I'd omit the d112 from this list because I don't care for it's presence rise, but YMMV.

SM58

Stumbled into by dumb luck. I was recording a set of scratch tracks on a song we were working on, and used a SM58 for the simple reason of it was the first mic I saw when I opened the locker. Funny thing is, we were only trying to capture a couple of different tempo approaches, tone was not in anybody's thought patterns. When I heard it on playback, it was the tone I've been hunting for!
