What is your favorite pedal on your board and why?

Boss PS-3. I'm in a traveling cover band in Asia, can't trust putting a big pedalboard through airport checked luggage, so I have to use a small board that fits in a backpack. The PS-3 serves as Delay, Chorus, Octave, Whammy (with expression pedal), and pseudo-organ/synth. And it sounds nearly the same on any amp or PA, more than I can say for any of my other pedals.

Cheers...

What a boring answer. Unfortunately, you're entirely right. It really is the only pedal you can't do without.

Boring, and snarky and irritating. Might as well say "I don't use effects" in this thread. Tuners are EVERYWHERE now... in your phone, on your headstock, in your amp, your kitchen cabinet, under your car. A tuner is ABSOLUTELY a pedal you can do without, and lots of us do.

+1

I assume some people also have perfect pitch?

I can't do without my MXR Bass Auto-Q for funk and RHCP. I don't use it a lot but it is my favourite pedal as most of my other pedals have a place in almost every gig, but they aren't exactly exciting.

Everything else I can do without if I had to. I love my chorus, octave, compressor, tuner, delay, boost, overdrive, looper, etc.... but they are nice to haves.

+1 on the tuner comments. I tune between every few songs, but it is unnecessary really. Basses don't really go out of tune much and the tuners these days are so accurate, being a bit off according to a good tuner is still basically in tune and not noticeable to most mere mortals.

Almost impossible to choose one pedal over the others since they are all favourites of their respective type and there's a reason (at least I tell myself there is) for every one ... so, among the "utility pedals" I'll say TC Polytune (yeah, so deal with it ;)), among the dirt pedals it's the Cusack Screamer Bass and among other effects I'll choose 3Leaf Wonderlove.

But as I said, they are all favourites or they wouldn't be on my board.
