What Is Your String Height/Setup For Two-Handed Tapping?

I'm in the process of converting my '89 Peavey Rudy Sarzo signature bass into more of a lead instrument and want to set it up for the optimum string height for two-handed tapping. Right now I have each string about 2/32" from the 12th fret. Is this about what you other tappers have yours set at? I also have very little relief in the neck, hardly any clearance around the 7th fret with the first and last frets depressed. I'm getting some nasty fret buzz at the 5th fret on the D string but that's probably because this bass needs a fret dressing after 22 years!

Any tips to reduce the pain in my right hand index and middle fingertips from all the tapping other than to just build up more calluses? Thanks!
