What J bass pickup. on Precision 5 string

Hi,i'm new here I'm Anders, have played seriously for 20 years.
I just recently bought the new 2008 Standard Precision 5 string and really like the sound. It sounds like a good 4 string p bass even on the B string.
How ever i'm used to j bass too as i had a Roscoe Beck 5 and i was thinking of letting a workshop drill a hole and put a good fatsounding passive j bass pick up in there too.
Any thoughts on what pick up?The standard j bass 5 string pickup?
Also,
If i want more tension in the strings it 's better to use thicker ones right?
Thanks

You're going to run into compatibility issues with the P pickup if you put a standard J pickup against it. Phasing is an issue to consider. Hum is another. More educated people here will be able to tell you more about it, but the thought of carving into a brand new '08 makes me VERY wary. Just my $1/50 .

Yea, i know it's on the verge of stupid digging a hole into a 08
I had a feeling hum and phasing would have to be considered.
I would still like to see what possibillities there are because i don't want to carry two basses, just one with every needed sound. The thing is i know a really great guy at a workshop who can do a good job installing but i was hoping some of you had tried some pickups out.
I would be interrested in the results.
