since i started the first thread 6 years ago, i figured it would be cool to run an updated poll on what kind of instruments folks are playing, to see how things have changed over the years.

so here it is - this poll/thread will replace the thread linked below...

    http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39605

same rules as the old thread apply here - select all options that apply to you. be sure to revote!

i'm interested to see how the data has changed over the years. be sure to vote, even if you just voted in the old thread, and yes, the final option is a control, ;).

i have to put all the doubled and tripled coarse instruments in a single selection because there are so many options and only 20 poll positions :(. if there is sufficient interest i think we could start another poll geared toward those kinds of instruments, to elaborate on them further.

  3. I cast my votes.... I've been waiting for a new version of this. I only had / played my old Hamer defretted 5 when I voted on the last one.

    woo!

    first page!

But on a more serious note, I just play the standard 4 and 5 string fretters.

been thinking about a 6 string, and maybe even a 4 string fretless.
but that will likely be around the time I have money to fritter away on basses.

notice the specification of "bass guitar" in the poll title. perhaps i should update the thread title to specify that distinction as well :).

Well, FINE!! Delete my unspecified check if'n you can. I guess I don't put distinctions on any of my bassy things. I call em all "bass".

oh, no, that's cool - anything electric can be counted in that spot. i'm just saying, for you uppity folks for whom bass guitar is not good enough ( ;) :D ) we need to get a poll going wherein you can share the specifics of your particular poisons.

i'm sorta at a loss as to what options would go into another poll. and what would i call it? "what kind of non-guitar electric bass instruments do you play?"

I voted for 4 string fretted and unfretted along with my 5 string fretted...........but in reality, although I still have a bunch of cool 4's, I really only gig with my 5's.

I have 7 basses --all 4 string fretted. Do the "fanned fret" variations warrant a separate category?
