That's exactly how I have my Precision and RumbleKat strung up. Works great for them.

I have Dean Markley Helix on my SR505 and DA Flexsteels on my SR1205E. Love both of those sets sound-wise but the Helix set feels better.

I just got a set of fender 9050m flats and I have to say, if I were to ever use flats, these would be them. Unless there's a more aggressive flatwound out there. They're pretty nice. I like the fact that they sound like an almost perfect combo between a flat and a round. Pretty sweet. I still love my DR low riders/beams though! Love those damn strings.

Right now I've got La Bella Deep Talkin' flats on my Squier Standard Precision V and D'Addario Black Nylon tapewounds on my Ibanez AEB5E acoustic. Works for me!

I string D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewounds on my fretless Jazz, and on my Ric 4003. That's all I use.

Update for me. I'm going back and forth on flats and rounds on my SX 32" Jazz Bass, but my best results have been:
-Nickel rounds: GHS Bass Boomers
-Flats: D'Addario Chromes
-Stainless steel rounds: None. I tried D'Addario Prosteels and I didn't like them. I have yet to try any other SS strings.
-Tapes: D'Addario Nylon Tapewounds
-Halves/grounds: GHS Pressurewounds

Now have labella flats on my j and ti flats on my p

With all this trial and error with strings I am getting pretty good with string changes .. Lol ..

Ti's are surprisingly really good on my p and the heavier gauge labella flats seem to be the go....

Planning to now go long term with these setups and move onto concentrating on other aspects of playing

It's now been several months of trying different strings, a bit frustrating at times but based on current outcomes the persistent effort seems to have paid off

Things I am clearer on include, I don't like ti's on my j and I don't like Ghs chromes on my p, but that's just my preference and I am basing this on a pick technique as I rarely at fingers anymore..

DR Music Marcus Miller High Beams. No other string has that lasting "sizzle" that I love. Also, once they break in they tend to mellow slow, so compensating with treble works a bit longer than every other string I've tried. And they are consistent, which is important

P.S. Bright, very comfortable to play even after coming from light gauge flats. Really nice metallic tone.
