I've been using D'addario pro steels for the last couple to few weeks, they're great!! I actually grabbed a set of EB hybrid slinkies (I used to use these a long time ago) just to try them out again. Can you believe that after two weeks of moderate to heavy play, the pro steels had more zing in them still than a brand new set of the slinkies. I was quite surprised.
Just got a set of GHS contact core super steels. They be nice, I likey. Well see how they fare after a week or two. Got some good zing and great playability. Pretty sweet.

I use GHS precision flats (45-105) on my Jazz, Rotosound 77s 40-95 on my violin bass.
Ordered myself some GHS pressure wounds for the violin bass, hoping that it will give me a bit more crispness without too much of the springy boingyness and mwhaw one gets from rounds. Just want more definition. The Rotosounds are not bad, the gauge is perfect for it (and these GHSs are the same, got them from juststrings.com which seems to be the only place right now that sells them)

Tried out flatwounds for the first time on a bass I recently put on layaway and loved them. It felt like I was playing a double bass in orchestra again. Ended up getting a set of DR Legend 45-105 for my P Bass Lyte. Love the way it plays and sounds. Has a much warmer sound. I was playing DR Low Rides before this, which are also pretty awesome.
Anyone notice that Dr Marcus Miller strings are becoming less and less available? I've hit 3 stores in the last couple of weeks and no one has them in stock. I noticed this tends to happen quite often with the Miller's
IMO I think the low riders are harder to find than the MM's. Could just be location/region too.

I've been using D'Addario EXL170 Nickels for the longest, after going back and forth between Ernie Ball and DR; but I have been thinking it's time for a change, perhaps Circle K. Also tempted to start using flats, just for a complete 180º.
right now im using dean markley blue steels ml 45-105 guage on my fender american std precision. Im actually just getting back into bass after a hiatus.
Rotosound jazz bass, rotosound funkmasters, rotosound swing bass. I own two precisions. One with flatwounds. One with roundwounds.

As well as using D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewounds on a Rickenbacker 4003, and a Gibson EB 2014, I also use ETB92S Nylons on a Gibson SG Std.

(sold last year regrettably)...but, I primarily used D'Addario's Ground Wounds since they were introduced.

I've always used D'Addario xl's because they're... available. thanks to you guys, I put a set of those hinky lookin Rotosound 66's on my Ibanez today. I may not stick with them, but I won't be going back to D'Addario. Next experiment is going to be a light top/heavy bottom set, to see the tension differences.
