What makes a person eccentric?

I would say it's about lack of knowledge of norms. I'm generally considered pretty "weird" or "eccentric" by many people I know. At first I didn't know what "normal" was, I spend a lot of time alone and such, but now I not only not know, I just don't care.

The Op said it pretty well . They have behaviors or traits that others see as odd but they don't know it or don't care.

So maybe they are normal and the observers are eccentric?

I have known or met more than a few . I honestly think I may fall into this category . People make comments to me about my behavior or they say for instance ...I'll change my last name to Barnaby for this example .

That tool is Barnaby proof.

Just Barnaby it

Or they repeat comments or actions I have made in certain situations

And so on . They say it with a smile and I've questioned it . They say no harm meant ,they like me and its just because of the way I am and do things.

I can scratch my head in certain places and make myself sneeze as much as I want . I actually enjoy it . I say it's a form of cranial masturbation . It has all the elements there, just I'm different form .

Yes ,I am weird .

maybe not eccentric but I am different.

Falling outside of normally accepted social parameters, or perhaps I should say asserting a different set of social parameters as the norm. It's a matter of degrees, a little is weird, middling amount is eccentric, and lots is crazy.

Cut 'em in half and look at their rings.
