What makes it your bass?

That's the start of a great story, but it needs....more. You were playing the biggest gig of your life and/or you met your wife (or the hottest girlfriend you ever had) when she bandaged the wound that the beer made when it hit you in the head. Give us...more.....
Pretty sure I was in a stone walled, low ceilinged basement practice room, sorry that's all I got

Stickers and mods. GZR pups and Gotoh tuners, All Parts bridge, eBay knobs, homemade zero mod Wenge thumbrest. Not worth selling, but it’s mine :D

There are millions of ps, and js and string rays, Rick’s, danos, foderas, wals, Warwick’s, Yamahas, Ibanez, , etc. What makes it yours? A particular dead spot? A rattle? A bit of wear only you could have put there.?

What makes it yours?

It was made to my specs, and imperfectly, requiring extensive reworking. But... it was a gift, and with quite a bit of expense, I've really made it mine. It's getting a new Hipshot A bridge, the last piece before it's done.

I consider it mine, because I chose every component of the bass.
The neck, fretboard, frets, binding, markers, body, hardware and even the thumb rest and neck plate.

These just do it for me .
The sunburst V3 Sire takes a little finess to play cleanly . It has a natural growl to it . It has Nordstrand single coils and an Audere Classic 4-band pre with a vintage type tone control . I love the tone control for getting an old school thump . It has a Fender high mass bridge and Gotoh Resolite tuners . Stock it was just as good as with my mods but I like the Audere because it's easier for me to make changes in tone .
The black Squier is a beast . Ash body and maple neck make a sturdy platform . This bass plays cleaner than the Sire up and down the fretboard . It reminds me of the Laklands that I've had playing wise . The pickups are Nordstrand Big Blades and the pre an Audere Classic 3-band . Works really good this way but I do wish I had the tone control for fast old school tone . I put Hipshot licensed tuners and a Hipshot A type bridge to lower the weight . This bass plays incredible , you can slap it , play hard fingerstyle or soft and it just works .
The Sire weighs 9.8 pounds and the Squier 10.25 pounds . The weight doesn't bother me at all and they both will do more than I can ask .

Technically, a Franken-Fender Jazz, but all parts bought separately and put together in 1984. No changes ever except for a 3 month stretch where I tried out Lindy Frailin pickups. I went back to the original Bartolini's I put on it. Every ding and wear on the the neck and body was made by me. It gets the sound I want and no other Jazz sounds like it.
